Trade Show Exhibit Video Wall

La Quinta Inns and Suites
Global Business Travelers Association Exhibition

In 2011, La Quinta Inns and Suites replaced the televisions in 50,000 hotel rooms with flat-screen Samsung TVs.  Samsung brought their 16-monitor video wall to the La Quinta exhibit at GBTA to help celebrate.  Kirk Jarvis produced the video wall media for the event.

The Samsung system included an image splitter to divide a single source between the monitors.  New and existing videos played on this large, full-wall format.  To add interest at media transitions, Kirk, with video guru, Chad Kopec of Focal Point Media produced transition segments that simulated video wall programming.

Here are a couple of the short animated transitions.

Scholarship Fundraising Video

The Jethsuby Scholarship Fund at the Catholic Foundation provides Hispanic students the necessary resources to obtain a Catholic education.

Kirk Jarvis has volunteered his time and resources for several fund-raising events to benefit The Jethsuby Fund, including a Son by Four concert at the Garland Event Center and a one-man show, Mi Cristo Roto, by renowned actor, Alberto Mayagoitia, at the Cathedral Santuario de Guadalupe in downtown Dallas.  He also produced a short video to help promote interest in the Scholarship Fund.

Kirk wrote the script, edited the original text tracks and music in Premiere Pro, and shared files with Chad Kopec of Focal Point Media, for final text and formatting.

Gift of Memories for T.G.I. Friday's

T.G.I. Friday’s 40th Birthday

We saw T.G.I. Friday’s give wonderful gifts to their attendees at the six Global Leadership Conferences we had produced.  For their 40th Birthday Celebration, we suggested a gift book, full of birthday memorabilia and featuring photographs of the General Managers of company-owned restaurants and from T.G.I. Friday’s around the world.

TSA Productions
Partner and
Executive Producer,
Kirk Jarvis
with Creative Director,
Scott Lumley, developed some preliminary creative suggestions and presented the idea to the T.G.I. Friday’s team.  They loved it.  Together, we developed additional content and design ideas.

The result is an award-winning book.

Production Notes:
Kirk and his team developed a name-and-photo tracking method and then shot all the General Managers during summer GM conferences.

Photographer, J.D. Cantu shot these and all the additional original photographs in the book.

A collection and tracking method for the international photographs was put in place and images were solicited from T.G.I. Friday’s around the world.  Photographs were received, tracked, copied and shared by TSA Productions.
Complete art production and pre-print preparation was the work of Designer, Steve VanGelder.

Step-by-step client approvals and the diligent production and press checks were handled by Kirk and the TSA team .

The cover idea came from Judy Dodson at T.G.I. Friday’s.  They are photographs of a T.G.I. Friday’s door handles.

The book is printed in 5-colors – 2 sided, with a 4-side bleed.  The 5th color is a spot varnish, highlighting all the photographs and specific design accents.

Opening Video – Franchise Group General Session

Opening Video
Franchise Group General Session

The Objective:
Open the Franchise General Session of La Quinta Inns and Suites’ Annual International Conference with a strong “good choice” message in a time of economic downturn.  Introduce a “part of a winning team” feel to the Session.

Directives:
Use existing still and video images (no original media production).  Use the limited number of existing video interviews with Special People.  Find a way to include the rest of the Special People.  Develop a script that supports the message.  Keep it visually interesting.  Finish fast.  Keep it inexpensive.

Production Notes:
Of the dozen Special people, only four interviews had been shot.  Additional video interviews would have required a multi-day shoot with travel.  Phone interviews were conducted instead, giving the complete group an opportunity to have a voice in the message.

Name graphics were enhanced with brand colors.

Section graphics provided the corporate message without narration.

Online Educational Video

The Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance is dedicated to finding a cure for tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) while improving the lives of those affected.

Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is a genetic disorder that causes non-malignant tumors to form in many different organs, primarily in the brain, eyes, heart, kidney, skin and lungs. The aspects of TSC that most strongly impact quality of life are generally associated with the brain: seizures, developmental delay, intellectual disability and autism. However, many people with TSC are living independent, healthy lives and enjoying challenging professions such as doctors, lawyers, educators and researchers.  The incidence and severity of the various aspects of TSC can vary widely between individuals—even between identical twins.

The Objective:
Explain tuberous sclerosis complex in Spanish, using a Spanish-speaking authority on the subject.  Complete the video in HD as well as in formatting appropriate for the web.

Directives:
Use the Director of Pediatric Neurology at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, Mauricio Delgado, M.D., as the on-camera authority.   Write the script outline for translation.  Shoot video, as needed, to illustrate the patient, family and clinical components of the video.

Production Notes:
Dr. Delgado enabled original video of patients, families and clinical procedures at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital.  The hospital also allowed us to tape narration sequences in their public area.

The Media Department of Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children shared video and still resources.

The TS Alliance shared images of local TS Alliance Support Groups

A well-known Spanish-speaking actor, Alberto Mayagoitia, contributed his time for the on-camera narration of the video.

The video has been available on the TS Alliance web site since completion.
